Reflection

I wrote my story as 3 parts and it was difficult to make.

The three parts are:a) past continuous, often used when setting the scene, e.g. I was driving home when I saw ...) simple past, the main form of the narrative, e.g. I saw, I ran, he was, I thought.c) past perfect, only rarely used.

For the interfacing of past and the past perfect I needed some corrections ... e.g When I arrived at the ATI, the class had already started. The class had already started when I got to the ATI.

The hardest part in writing a story is to imagine the story and writing it in good order to match the three tenses.

I think many of my classmates faced the same problem.

Reflection

In this reflection I will write about the process. The process must be in the passive form.

It will contain is and are plus the past participle, as are squeezed, is freezed, are mixed.

The process essay is always short. It has like 30 word for the introduction, 100 – 120 for the main process and 30 as conclusion so it will be within 150-180 words in total.

Comparing 2 countries

In this essay I will write about the similarities and differences between the UAE and Brunei. Both countries have many interesting things which will attract you. At the end I will write my own opinion about which country I feel it’s better for me to live in.

The UAE and Brunei have many similarities. Both are Islamic countries which have almost the same traditions. Both countries have hereditary monarchies ruling the land. You may be surprised if you know that Brunei has a lot of gas and oil just like the UAE; that’s why it is one of the rich countries. As national airlines both countries are leading the world in their nice planes in their very modern airports.

However both countries have differences. The biggest difference thing that anyone can notice is the climate between the two countries. It is very nice in Brunei and rainy almost every day. Their houses are built in a way that it is suitable for that kind of climate. In Brunei they also have very green jungles with a lot of trees and fruits. All of those things are making such a small country like Brunei a very nice place to live compared to the UAE. The roads in the UAE are better in designing and the cars in the UAE are left hand drive while it is right hand drive in Brunei. The education in UAE is a better but it is single sex schools, while in Brunei it is a co-education at system.

In my opinion as an Arabic person I would prefer to live in the UAE because it is a very modern country and it is growing very fast. I think the UAE is a better place for the future but the weather is the only problem while we are fasting in the UAE. All of this could be because I was born in the UAE, or it may be the feeling of being home.

That’s all about comparing the UAE and Brunei. I hope you find it an interesting topic because my teacher (Hedley) forced me to write about it.
